Dr. Xiaojuan Ren Visiting Scholar Xi’An Shiyou University, China (Visit period: Dec. 2009 - Dec. 2010) "Experimental modeling of immiscible displacement in a rough-single fracture" Dr. Ren has been engaged in teaching and researching at School of Petroleum Engineering, Xi’An Petroleum University, Shaanxi Province, China for 20 years. Her research mainly focuses on (1) Flowing in low permeability porous media; (2) Enhanced oil recovery. (3) Formation damage mechanism, assessment and mitigation. Currently, she works on experimental modeling of immiscible displacement in single fractures with roughness. The following figure shows the transparent models (replicas of fractured rocks under tension) used in the experiments.
